Doing a little quick research this morning for my Get Your Paint On! class. We are supposed to be inspired by, or "painting in the style of . . ." this week. I have a hard time focusing on one artist or style to be emulating. I pulled up some Hockney, and although I love his colors and style, it is not quite a "me" style. Next up was Wayne Thiebaud. I have always loved his works, but had never read up on the man himself. I ran into this short segment today, that is just a dabbling of him story, but I'm so inspired by the person he is! If you have time, take a quick look. He is sweet, modest, and most of all, a happy person!
I watched the entire thing and so enjoyed it. I had never heard of Mr. Thiebaud but what a fascinating story and man..a very humble man. Thanks for sharing this special story. xo
ReplyDeleteSabrina, thank you so much for sharing this artist. I had never heard of him and I REALLY enjoyed that clip. I will be doing some more research into this wonderful artist. I loved his self effacing manner and he's pretty young thinking for an 81 year old!
ReplyDeleteI too have been enjoying studying other artists work and completing artwork 'in the style of'. I've got something coming up at Gauche Alchemy in May, with this very idea. It certainly shakes up your way of thinking/arting!
Thank you again.
xx
I hadn't heard of him, but I'm a fan now! :) Thanks for sharing this.
